The discerning fossil collector will certainly find amazing specimens here at Steamboat Rocks and More. This Madagascan ammonite measures a little over 18 inches! It is believed to be a kranoshpinctes that lived in the Late Jurassic period. This species has incredibly well defined ribs along its shell. in life, these might have been a form of species signaling, display, or defense. This specimen is a wonderful example of both the diversity among the ammonites and the pieces that we have available for purchase.
