I want to say thank you all for an incredible ten years! After making made to order wooden plugs and earrings for over a decade, I have decided that it is time to call it quits. I appreciate all of you who have supported me through this journey; It has allowed me to grow and learn a lot about myself personally. You have all seen me at me best, and at my worst, and I feel the time has come for me to make changes to be the best version of myself for my family.

I will be shutting down the workshop at the end of July 2022, so if there is anything that you have had your eye on, now is the time.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in a lesson, internship or purchasing any/all of the woodshop equipment don’t hesitate to reach out.

I will be bringing back a few old designs, clearing out some excess inventory, and offering some deals on my Etsy shop between now and the end of July, so keep your eye on earemporium.Etsy.com for new listings and discounts.

I spent Day 1 freaking out, Day 2 making a plan, and Day 3 making a prototype.

During the last ten years of running my wooden jewelry business, I have saved small scraps of exotic wood, telling myself “these may come in handy some day.” On day two of self isolation, with plenty of time on my hands, it came to me. Now is the time for all of us to do the best we can with what we have.

Running short on the materials that I need to make my primary product line, instead of stressing and shutting down, why not make the best of what we’ve got? Suddenly thankful for my in-home workshop and years of scrap wood, I got to work, standing at the belt sander while my mind raced about what was going on in the world around us.

One thing that struck me was the influence that the pandemic is having on families and loved ones forced to be apart during these times. I began making ‘friendship’ pieces, as a reminder that although we can’t always be close to those who are important to us, we are doing this together.

All pieces in this new line are intentionally left rough on the back side, because there is no doubt that the days ahead will be rough for all of us. Together we will make the best of the situation at hand.
