The largest aquamarine stone currently recorded is called the Dom Pedro, found in Brazil in the 1980s and weighing an amazing 10,363 karats, about 4.6 pounds. The stunning stone can be viewed in the National Museum of Natural History's Janet Annenberg Ho**er Hall of Geology. Brazil also produces many of the aquamarine stones coveted in jewelry making.
