I have seriously fallen behind on photo editing this past year.

There was always one more thing that needed to be done, and editing kept getting pushed to the side. I would edit a couple photos each week as pieces were picked up, but for every one I finished, it felt like there were three more waiting.

Yesterday and today, I finally started working my way through them.

And as I did, I remembered every story.

I remembered the people who sat across from me and shared why a piece mattered. Who it belonged to. What it represented. The memories attached to it.

A few of them broke my heart all over again.

The work I do can be hard. It is incredibly meaningful, and I am forever thankful for the trust my clients place in me, but sometimes I don't realize how much of their stories I carry with me.

As I went through these photos, I think I traced back to the time when I started shutting down on editing...

Grief is overwhelming. I never want to take someone else's grief lightly, and I never want to become numb to the stories entrusted to me. But looking back, I think there were a few times when I carried more of that grief than I needed to.

Maybe this pile of unedited photos wasn't really about the photos after all.

I'm working my way through them now—remembering the stories, honoring the pieces, and feeling incredibly grateful for every person who has trusted me with something so meaningful. 🕊

Feeling pretty nostalgic tonight.

Right now, I’m sitting here making bookmarks, watching WWE with my husband, daughter, and dog.

And I realized… 10 years ago, I was doing almost the exact same thing.

Back then, the business was called “Rachel Flower Designs.” I made simple, crafty pieces—mostly centered around recovery. Over time, it grew into more Christian-based work.

They were humble beginnings.

I didn’t have some grand plan for where it would all lead. I just did what was in front of me, learned along the way, and kept moving forward.

One project. One idea. One opportunity at a time.

Ten years later, life and business look very different in so many ways. But tonight, I’m back in the living room, making bookmarks with WWE playing in the background.

And somehow, that feels really special.

10K Solid Gold — 41.7% Gold 💛💛💛
