August’s birthstone is peridot, and it has one of the best “how did this end up in jewelry?” stories.

Peridot has been admired for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians mined it on a tiny island in the Red Sea and even called it the “gem of the sun,” because it seemed to glow in the light. It’s one of those stones that feels like it has history built into it, not just color.

As for what it means, peridot is often linked to protection, strength, and good fortune, and a lot of people love it as a symbol of a fresh start. And honestly, that bright green just feels like late summer in gemstone form.

👉🏼 Storyteller: Outside of the store, Natasha runs multiple tabletop RPG campaigns each week and even streams a Monday night game with Crits & Giggles.

👉🏼 History fan: Natasha is involved in historical reenactments and enjoys learning traditional techniques and skills.
