Setting a 5.91-carat heirloom sapphire is not fast work — and it shouldn’t be.

A family heirloom, reimagined in platinum.
The Dunn Ring was built around an extraordinary 8.1-carat tanzanite, chosen for its vivid blue-violet depth and undeniable presence. Diamond accents frame the center stone with added brightness, while sculpted filigree wraps the head in intricate, architectural detail.
Bold in scale yet refined in ex*****on, this piece was created to preserve the meaning of an heirloom while giving it a new form worthy of the next generation.

A closer look at the handwork behind this ring.

Each seat for the accent diamonds was cut by hand with gravers, allowing every stone to be set precisely within the design. Once the setting was complete, hand-laid milgrain was added along the edges to give the ring its delicate, antique-inspired finish.

It is meticulous work, but those carefully considered details are what give the finished piece its depth and character.

The Two-Tone Ott Band — built with contrast, weight, and detail in all the right places.

This version is crafted with a platinum exterior and a warm yellow gold or rose gold sleeve on the inside, giving the band a subtle two-tone finish that feels refined without being loud.

A platinum sapphire ring built to feel substantial from every angle.

This piece centers around a 3.81 ct sapphire, set in platinum with openwork detailing that gives the ring depth, structure, and presence without feeling overly heavy.

The deep blue of the sapphire paired with platinum gives it that classic, high-ticket feel — refined, bold, and made to be noticed.

This is the part where the ring starts to shimmer.
One by one, each stone is seated into place, the metal is brought up around it, and the surface slowly begins to catch the light in all the right ways. It’s delicate work — small movements, steady hands, and just enough pressure to make everything feel effortless in the end.
The reel finishes with the final photos, highlighting the areas I set and the little details that bring this ring to life.

There’s a quiet rhythm to bezel setting: easing the metal down, cleaning the edge, going back in, and refining it again.
This part of the process is all patience and control — working the bezel little by little until the stone feels held, the edge feels clean, and the hammer marks disappear into the finish.
