Watch me make a pair of quartz earrings! I came up with this design last week, I love these cube shaped stones 😍. Some days I torch and hammer silver in my basement wearing pjs, other days I’m a photographer who is also a model so I do my hair and take selfies of me wearing our newest creations! 😆🙌

The fall weather has been so beautiful that I decided to take my photography day outside!

I did all my usual studio shots of the new jewelry and then hauled everything out to the garden to soak up some of the last warm sunshine of the season.

And can we talk about this zinnia?? From a distance it looks like a solid peach color, but up close the petals are pink at the base! I swear it wasn’t like that a few weeks ago. Do zinnias change color as they age? Or have I just not been paying attention to my garden? 😂

Anyway, I thought it made a pretty great backdrop for this new necklace! It’s a bezel set variscite with little aquamarine and kyanite stones wrapped along the chain. I made every single chain link by hand, and one of my favorite things about this design is that the clasp can hook into any link, so you can wear it anywhere from a short choker length up to 18”.

I’ve had a few requests for shorter necklaces lately, and I thought this stone would look really cool set horizontally for a shorter, close to the neck style.

So here’s my new necklace, my apparently color-changing zinnia, and my official proof for why garden plants should be a business expense because now they’re photography props 🌸

Just listed some new creations online! I made this bracelet and 5 pairs of earrings to match. Natural Kingman turquoise with aquamarine. I wrapped each stone with a little spiral and connected them with square wire circles. Handmade toggle. This is one of a kind and it will fit a small to medium sized wrist as it is now but I did make 2 extra wrapped links in case it needs to be adjusted and am happy to customize the length for ya. I made 5 pairs of the earrings. These rings happened almost completely by accident.

I was melting down some silver scraps when I happened to pull the flame away at just the right moment. Instead of melting into a solid mass, the silver had fused into this strange little organic shape with all these openings and textures.

I thought it was really cool, so naturally I spent a ton of time trying to do it again.

The funny thing is that I couldn’t really control it. A lot of my attempts just got melted back down, but every once in a while I would get one that made me stop and think, ohhhh...there’s something here.

I started saving those pieces and playing with them, hammering and shaping them and trying to figure out what they wanted to become.

Eventually I curved one around my finger and saw it would make an awesome ring!!

I love how substantial these feel on your hand. They have this wonderful solid weight and dimension, but all of those irregular openings keep them feeling organic and completely different from one another.

Not every experiment in the studio turns into jewelry. Sometimes it just turns into a blob of silver I melt again. 😅

I’m really glad I kept following this one.

Yesterday marked 20 years in business! Just two people showing up everyday and doing our best. We are beyond grateful for all the support that’s made this possible. These raw amethyst stalactite slices are so awesome! The layers of color and texture show the history of how each stone was formed. Millions of years and changing conditions turned drips of mineral rich water into agate, quartz, and finally purple amethyst crystals. I made 5 necklaces and one pair of earrings. The saying Through Thick and Thin actually originated as a way to describe walking through the woods. The “thicket” being the hard to travel dense woods in contrast to the thinner easier to navigate areas. It has since become the phrase we use to describe staying steady through life. Continuing under all circumstances, no matter the conditions.

I created this double link necklace with one heavy hammered oval link and one thin one interlocked together. In my head I was referring to it as the “thick and thin” necklace and then I thought how cute would that be if it came with a little card to symbolize the saying. A sweet gift to thank someone for always having your back, to let someone know you’ll always be there or even as a personal reminder to sustain your effort through challenging times. These have been a popular gift and I’ve just popped another batch on the website 💗

Made three of these teal kyanite necklaces this week! The oxidized wire wrapping came out so cool after I made the first one I had to do a couple more 🥰. This was an experiment as I made a mistake on our metal order a few weeks back. I purchased a bunch of a wire temper and size we do not currently have a use for. I spent a day in the studio trying to figure out what I might make with it and it was just right for wrapping. Took me back to the old days when I started out! I’ve always had a fondness for wire wrapping and it was just right for this design. Solid Argentium sterling silver and 2 carat teal kyanite stones 💗 just listed on the website!

New clover hoops! Really loving these and they were fun to figure out how to get the shape just right. I make a lot of hoops, a big chunk of my time each week is spent restocking our best sellers. So far all of the hoops I make are round and I really loved thinking outside of the box to create these. We used to make this design as a drop earring years ago and I happened to see an old prototype on my bench and thought they’d make great post hoops and I’m so happy with how they came out!
