Celebrating Women’s History Month…
Ronnetra Green 💜
Ronnetra Green is a passionate nursing professional with more than 18 years of diverse healthcare experience, including geriatrics, pediatrics, home health, hospice, corrections, and mental health. She currently serves as the Discharge Nurse Coordinator at Brentwood Hospital, where she is dedicated to creating safe and nurturing environments for patients during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. Known for her compassionate approach, Ronnetra ensures that dignity, empathy, and respect are present in every patient interaction. To better serve the diverse needs of her patients, she learned American Sign Language, not only to support deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in their care, but foremost to assist those who are hearing impaired in learning about the Bible.
Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Ronnetra was inspired by the example of her parents, Ronny and Patricia Thomas, whose lifelong commitment to ministry, volunteerism, and philanthropy instilled in her a deep passion for service. Their influence helped shape her dedication to uplifting others and giving back to the community she proudly calls home.
Ronnetra has remained actively involved in community service throughout her life. Over the past year alone, she has volunteered with numerous organizations and initiatives across the city, including the Red River Revel’s Shreveport Farmers Market, the Red River Balloon Rally through Delta Utilities, Common Ground Pantry Food Bank, The Ark of Caddo-Bossier, Reading Is Fundamental, the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier, the Young Professionals Initiative, and the Downtown Development Authority’s Tour of Homes. She has also served as a table host at Highland Center Ministries’ Blessing Dinner, providing encouragement and support to individuals in need.
For more than 19 years, Ronnetra has facilitated free interactive Bible courses alongside her congregation and throughout the southwest Shreveport community. Through this work, she shares her passion for faith, learning, and service while helping nurture hope, connection, and encouragement among those she serves.
In 2023, Ronnetra launched Netra’s Bling LLC, a faith-based jewelry boutique designed to promote self-love, confidence, and mental health awareness. Through her business and community outreach, she advocates for the power of positive self-talk and the importance of self-worth. She has also mentored young girls from the MLK area through a community partnership, encouraging them to recognize that words, vision, and relationships matter. By promoting self-reflection and positive personal growth, she helps guide young women as they develop confidence, character, and purpose.
Ronnetra exemplifies integrity, leadership, and a deep commitment to service in both her professional and personal life. Her dedication has earned her several recognitions, including being named Clinical Employee of the Month at Brentwood Hospital. She is also a recipient of the 2025 Class of 40 Under 40 recognition from the Greater Shreveport Chamber and the Young Professionals Initiative. Recently, she was honored by the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier as a “Leading Lady,” recognizing her as a role model who embodies the values of leadership, service, and community engagement. Most recently she was recognized by the Mayor and Shreveport Mayor's Women's Commision as the 2026 Women's History Month HERA Quality of Life Award Winner.
Through her volunteerism, mentorship, professional excellence, and community advocacy, Ronnetra Green continues to inspire others while strengthening the quality of life for citizens across the Shreveport-Bossier community.
