My first market in Wisconsin is off to a busy start! It also started off wet with tables knocked over due to an overnight storm but am thankful I had all of my product tucked away so it’s all good! Also, even though my photos could never do this new choker necklace justice, check out the necklace I made this past week! I’m enjoying getting back to my jewelry roots and doing more brass and beadwork. I won’t keep it, but it may not be for sale for a wee little bit so I can enjoy it just a bit longer! 😆

My third and final day set up at the Pella Tulip Festival! Here’s a bit of a photo dump, including new coasters that a vendor friend suggested I try! I’m not sure if they’ll have a permanent place in my booth, but this first batch was sure fun to do! I had hoped to have a table today, but my last layer of resin had too many imperfections for my liking. Hopefully I’ll have it finished soon!

Tulip Time has commenced! There was a little rain this morning but then again, it wouldn’t be the tulip festival without a few drops! The sun is peaking out now and it’s going to be a gorgeous day! I sure wish I would’ve taken these photos this morning when the sun was shining as this doesn’t do the shimmer and shine justice. I decided to do a clear coat on the back to make this clock a bit of a diorama and seen from all sides. 🦋
let me know how you think this came out! The wings are a bit transparent for me, but without taking the little guy apart and laminating him, I don’t know this this can’t be fully helped? 🤷‍♀️

As most vendors can attest to, half the battle of selling at markets is how you display your product. As much as I can, I stay away from buying display pieces brand new and look to make my own and will often repurpose old items to fit my work. With that being said, I took an old drawer I bought a year ago for $5 and turned it into my mushroom jewelry display case. My son cut up some birch bark for me for the pedestals and I put a little moss down for a woodlands look, added some hooks and wallah! I’m not sure if I like the brown and may paint the drawer a cream color, but will sit with this a while. Let me know what you think! Should I leave it be? Or give it a thin coat of paint?

I’ve been a busy bee working at getting some clocks finished for my spring shows! I have a couple that need sanding and top coats yet, but this is what I have available this weekend at JuNk JuBiLeE today and tomorrow! If you’re in or around Des Moines, come see me and my clocks!
