When evaluating diamond quality, there are several key factors to consider. Use our easy guide to determine the best diamond for you.

COLOR: G-to-H diamonds are in the near colorless range and are more affordable than colorless D-to-F diamonds. An untrained eye may not discern their subtle color. Diamonds below these grades start to appear warm in color.
CLARITY: Diamonds in the VS1 to SI1 range offer a good balance of value and clarity. Many don’t have eye-visible inclusions.
CUT: If buying a round brilliant diamond, prioritize choosing one with an Excellent or Very Good cut grade as they will be the most bright and attractive. For other shapes, make sure the diamond has Excellent symmetry, and a girdle that isn’t too thick or too thin. Girdle thickness is provided on GIA Diamond Grading Reports.
CARAT WEIGHT: Price per carat jumps at certain “magic sizes” such as 1.00, 1.50 and 2.00 carat. Go just below these sizes to save money.
