Navajo Sterling Silver Necklace, circa 1985…

Just consigned to Cocopah North, this necklace comes from an estate in Phoenix. The Turquoise has been identified as Bisbee and it measures 30” long, including the Naja pendant. The Naha itself measures 2 3/4” in circumference and it’s strung with 8mm bench-made beads.

We restrung it on four lines of tigertail for safety and replaced the broken clasp with a handmade Navajo clasp…keeping it authentic! This piece is historic, from the golden era of Native American jewelry when Turquoise was as abundant in the Southwest as tumbleweeds.

New at North…Navajo Squashblossom Necklace, circa 1950.

On our recent trip to the reservations in New Mexico, we found this historic piece. It’s Sterling Silver, natural unstabilized Turquoise, and Coral. Measuring 22” long, 24 1/2” including the length of the Naja pendant. Strung with handmade 8mm Sterling beads, each unit of the ten Squashblossoms is a small masterpiece itself with a graceful circling silver leaf modifying a 16mm Turquoise cabochon and an 8mm Coral cabochon. The Naja itself has five Turquoise and five Coral cabochons.

Sterling Silver pin by Navajo silversmith, Lee Charley…

We found this charming pin on our recent trip to the reservations in New Mexico. It’s heavy gauge silver, measures approximately 2 1/2” wide and 1 1/2” long at the widest point. Signed on the back, this little fish sports a Black Onyx eye and dramatic textured scales.
