Melissa bio:
At a young age my passion for jewelry was sparkled! Growing up shortly outside of Manhattan I enjoyed the adventure of traveling into the city to purchase materials to include in my pieces. This turned into a strong desire for metalsmithing which eventually led me to the Pendland School of Crafts where I studied jewelry design and fabrication. From there I spent many years evolving through the fine jewelry industry working in design and sales.
Currently I am living in Sedona, Arizona where Caravana Jewelry is based. “Caravana” Reflects free spirited fun. The romanticized idea of roaming around in search of new adventure, art, culture, and findings. This is expressed in our jewelry by offering artistic pieces that are fun to wear!
The intense colors and natural textures that surround our studio in Sedona are inspiring. Metalsmithing techniques that date back as far as the ancient Egyptian‘s, to blacksmith and ironwork all the influence designs. Past travels and experience play their role as well.
All of our work are handmade in Sedona by experienced crafts people~

Kit Carson's name evokes rich sun drenched history, and each of his handcrafted items is a collectible to be treasured for generations. It was an honor to meet Rocky and Lydia and share the unique aspects of Kit Carson Jewelry with them. We take pleasure in working with artists who can share the stories behind their work, and Kit Carson has a treasure trove of stories to share. Rocky was impressed by the artistry and purchased two Kit Carson cuffs, a leather holder, and a keepsake book. It is always a delight to bring joy to our customers at Caravana Jewelry.
