Throwback on one of our all-time favorites! This sapphire was rarity personified. First, the color. It was a medium tone apple green gem, not a common color to find.

Secondly, it was eye clean. Sapphires usually have visible inclusions, but for the size of this gem, it was almost loupe clean - almost unheard of.

Third, it was unheated. Most sapphires in the market are all heat-treated. There is nothing wrong with heating a sapphire to improve the color and clarity, but it is rare and feels more special when nature gives you that perfect color straight from the ground.

Fourth, the size was massive! It was a 17+ carat gem. Over 90% of sapphires in the market are between 1 - 4carat. Only less than 1% exceed 10ct and still maintain such color and clarity.

Finally, we documented the journey of the gem, from mines to this stunning ring!

We are honored to have owned this piece for the time we did, and we're happy it landed in a good home!

They just get better each day!!! 2.4 ct, radiant cut Gombe sapphire! This one reminds me of the Carribean, and it has a think veil of silk that gives it opalascence. An absolute stunning gem!
