Why I Don’t Always Show My Process: The Permission & Priority Dilemma

I talk about the challenge of showing my product-making process on social media. While I understand the importance of sharing behind-the-scenes content, I face real obstacles: my work involves five different workstations, which would require resetting my camera multiple times. More importantly, I prioritize getting customer consent before filming their orders, which is my moral responsibility. Since most of my orders come through Amazon where I can’t easily reach customers, and my first priority is always dispatching orders quickly so customers receive their products faster, I rarely have the opportunity to film the full process. I only share before-and-after content when I’ve successfully obtained permission from the customer. While content creation is beneficial for my business, I won’t compromise on customer service or ethical practices.

Most brands take your child’s drawing and “improve” it. They clean the lines and fix the petals—making the flower look exactly how they think it should look. But in doing that, they erase the child who drew it.
