I was home over the weekend and got to spend some much needed time with Theo - and it was also my first time being home after we said goodbye to milky over the summer. I could feel the emptiness in the house - his silhouette still lingering in his favorite spots and corners - but most notably, I sensed Theo missing his other half so so much.

While milky and theo’s relationship started off quite one sided (with theo just being obsessed with milky and milky taking time to warm up to his annoying little brother), it became something so precious and they were inseparable. Remembering milky so fondly is a privilege that I want to treasure - and especially the bond that we saw milky and theo have for the past 3.5 years is something I’ll never forget. So I wanted to immortalize their story in pixels and in words - and hence, here we have the story of milky & theo

I wanted to post this after adding some color and making it look more “presentable” but as my mom said, “it’s a raw story that captures them perfectly as is” ~ so I want to share this with all of you in its raw form. As it is. The bond of milky and theo.

happy first birthday in heaven milky boy 🤍 we miss you so much down here ~ drawing your favorite things is the first time I picked up my iPad to draw since you crossed the rainbow bridge - thank you for encouraging me to create again

Seeing your favorite things like the castella bread at Paris baguette and cuddling your little snoopy doll still breaks me a little bit, but I love talking about you to anyone who will listen 🫶🏻 you bring so much joy through all your memories and I see you in every ray of sunshine and chuckle when I’m in the apple aisle at Whole Foods, remembering your pickiness and preference for Fuji apples only 🥹

I miss you and love you so very much my baby boy ~ happiest of birthdays to you 🤍🤍🤍

Saying goodbye to you was the hardest thing I had to do. I’m so sorry we couldn’t fix you - I promise we tried so hard - I know you know this; you were ready to go. I’m so thankful that you waited for the whole family to be back together so that we would all have a chance to say goodbye to you. Thank you for being our adventure buddy from Delaware to Arizona, our constant nagger for treats and sweets, and for just being our precious companion in this life together.

Milky & Co. wouldn’t exist without you and I’m going to miss you being in the studio while I prep orders and having your presence simply felt through all that we did. Thank you for being the best brother to the little brother you didn’t ask for and for always being our sunshine boy who just loved to bask in the sunshine - even though mom would nag at you for not wearing sunscreen. I hope you are now pain-free, with the freshest air and warmest sun and unlimited amounts of castella, pops cereal, in n out patties, and all your other favorites.

The house feels empty without you in it, and the little things - from your half-full medication bottles to the supply of wet food we bought for you - remind me of you constantly. I will always remember you, my dear sweet milky, through all things - from your perky selective hearing whenever someone is trying to sneak some chips or ice cream cones without you knowing to your half roll to “roll over”. Thank you for taking care of us through your entire lifetime. We will grieve you so so much - but I know you also want us to remember you by the life you lived. So I promise that I will cherish you in all ways, joyfully. I will miss you forever, my sweet Milky boy - I love you. I’ll see you again one day 🫶🏻

It took us some time to come up with words to talk about the current state of the US - amid the raids across different cities, it’s been heartbreaking to see families being torn apart and hardworking people being punished for seeking asylum and a better life for themselves, their children, and future generations.

Esther and I are always in gratitude of THE backbone of milky & co (mama and papa cho) who created so many opportunities for both of us by building their foundation here in the usa. Right now, there are so many people who are getting those opportunities and the chance to build a life here ripped away.

I think oftentimes, as small businesses, it can be daunting to be “political” on your business social media - but I strongly believe that human rights doesn’t live on one side of the political spectrum versus the other.

Please stay safe, continue to advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves, and protect one another. We stand by immigrants and the right to pursue the American dream.

we had the pleasure of working with to design and create a reusable grocery bag featuring all our favorite Asian ingredients and goodies!!!

We redesigned the bag so that it’s wider (can hold more of your favorite groceries) and so it’s sturdier than the first version! This was such a fun project for us and, as you can tell, Theo and his favorite bunny friend approve 😁😁

Mama and Papa Cho have hit the big 30!! A very happy anniversary to the ones who keep milky & co on its feet - from papa cho hand cutting, folding, and packaging all of our greeting cards to mama cho always engaging with our IG posts while we were in algorithm jail and encouraging papa cho to work faster 😆😅 - we’ve come a long way on the family business front and it really wouldn’t have been possible without the backbones of our family and milky and theo’s favorite people (absolutely pains me to say this, but it’s true)

Please wish mama and papa cho a happy anniversary 🫶🏻 to today and many many more years!!

Our holiday market calendar is live!! 🎄🎁
I’m so excited for all of these upcoming events that we’ll be vending at this season 🌟 we’re doing some last minute prep as always 🫠🫠 but so so excited to see you all at our events in Arizona and Minnesota!

It’s been a weird year for small businesses - the peak of 2021/2022 is beyond unreachable for most of us and the morale is definitely weird post-that first Tuesday in November ☹️ one of my goals of this year was to reduce my Amazon consumption and increase my small business consumption 😃 while prime still has a chokehold on me, it’s definitely less than years past (I somehow managed not to buy anything unnecessary during prime days this year???)

Anyways, I’m diverging from the topic, but we’re so excited to see you all very soon starting this Saturday for !! And Theo will be vending with us as well (after all, he has to make sure the hoomans do a decent job 🙃)
