Back when gold parties were at their peak, I was doing a lot of them! I listened to some great stories and have had more than a few interesting experiences. The usual routine was to go to someone’s home on a designated date and time. They invited friends to come. I would meet with them one-on-one to assess their gold, while everyone else socialized. On one particular evening, as I was setting out my equipment, the husband of the woman who was hosting was standing off to the side with a skeptical look on his face. By the end of the evening, he was so impressed that he brought me his own gold bracelet to evaluate. By then, it was getting late, around 9:30 pm. He asked me if I liked red wine. I said I did but that I couldn’t stay. He said, “no, I make wine and I want to give you a bottle”. Wow! He surprised me and the wine was wonderful!
