This is a major piece of history.

We are looking at an absolute holy grail of Carson City coinage: an 1893-CC Morgan Dollar graded PCGS PR62.

When the Carson City Mint officially closed on June 1, 1893, officials marked the final day of coinage operations with a small striking ceremony. According to historical records, just 12 of these Branch Mint Proofs were struck as special souvenirs.

To have 1 of those 12 surviving Branch Mint Proofs sitting right here in our hands is unbelievable.

Finding an 1890-O Morgan Dollar in Deep Mirror Prooflike is tough enough in Gem condition: PCGS has graded just 24 total examples in MS65 DMPL.

This piece takes it a step further, graded PCGS MS65+ DMPL CAC. It carries a population of just 2 coins at this level with only 1 finer, making it tied for the absolute finest CAC-approved example in existence.
