Jewelry advertising piece inspired by a Mexican silversmith’s advertising photo of their business card and jewelry sketches from the 1930s-60s.
I found the image in one of my jewelry books and was drawn to the composition and the effortless way it captures their work.
I interpreted the idea with my own details and The Double Headed Serpent Necklace.

Notas de Obra - “The Cuentas Ring”.

Sharing some behind the scenes of the making of the ring, inspiration, and still life shots. This piece draws inspiration from the importance of beads in Mesoamérica, where they were valued not only as symbols of wealth but also as sacred objects. Beads were used in burial ceremonies and also served as a form of currency. Each bead is hand cut specifically for this piece by Mexican lapidaries, using jadeite from Chiapas and quartz from Guerrero, Mexico, then assembled and soldered in place in my studio!

I redesigned this ring twice. In the first version, the metal beads paired with the stone weren’t true spheres. I tried hollowing them to reduce the weight, but that compromised the shape I was aiming for, so I went back and remade them solid. Sometimes you can’t cut corners!

I love that the stone bead has a bit of movement!

Posting my gem painting by that I finally got framed and hung in my studio. I love my pastel gemstone, it feels so at home here!

It’s been a while since I shared on Instagram; it just feels hard to do right now. So instead of forcing myself to post jewelry and my own work while everything feels 💔, I’m sharing the work of someone I admire.

Do you think this was a little extra… maybe?! lol

I hand made a journal just to store all my gemstones from the Tucson Gem Show.

At past shows, I’d stuff all the little plastic baggies into my purse and just hope I wouldn’t lose the cost notes or the supplier info for each stone. If you’re a jeweler, you know what I’m talking about… nightmare.

So this time, I made one place for everything, something that felt intentional and safe, like a little archive of my finds. And it worked!

Not sure if other jewelers have a system when they source stones, or are you also part of the “baggies everywhere” club like I was!?

The Pirámide Ring in silver with Mexican fire opal - I don’t share a lot of silver work, but I’ve always worked in silver and offer all my pieces in it. Happy it’s getting some traction again 🤍🤍🤍

Thanks for letting me take a photo of your silver ring

The Gran Relato Ring started as a custom piece.
Phoebe and Angie brought Angie’s old engagement ring and wedding band, and we reused her gold and gemstones to create a new design.
This is a variation of my small Relato Ring, altered to accommodate that beautiful center marquise emerald and flush set side diamonds.

I thought this was such a strong evolution of the piece that I expanded on it and created the Gran Relato Ring, now available on my site.

Thank you, Phoebe and Angie!

The Pedestal Rings, in all their shapes, materials, and expressions.

Five distinct designs: the large inlay for the bold, the medium inlay for a balanced statement, the mini inlay for something subtle and for those who like stacking, the medium domed cab for those drawn to the sculptural, and the mini domed cab with sapphires for those who want to sparkle.

The Terral Rings. This ring has four views, four stones to flip to and admire, each one offering a slightly different presence. Available in three different styles: green and blue sapphires and tourmalines, warm pink and yellow garnets and diamonds, and a clear sapphire option for a more understated feel.

These pieces were finished last year, in Dec 24’, but I didn’t feel inspired to share or launch them then. I had to wait until the time felt right, and they were finally released with all the new pieces a year later, on Nov 25’. Some things take their time to unfold!

I’ve been talking to my fellow jewelers, one who just visited Taxco (wink wink ) and one who lives there (wink wink ), and I wanted to re share a journal entry I wrote in 2020 from one of my visits to Taxco, along with its brief history!

I started a Substack (yes, another Substack). I’m not a regular user, but I thought that since I already have all of these journal entries and am eager to create more in 2026, it might be a good place to store and organize them, besides my Instagram story highlights and my website, where you can find them with more info and photos.

In brief, Taxco called The Silver City, is the capital of silversmithing in Mexico, a place where streets are lined with silver jewelry shops, family run workshops, narrow cobblestone streets, colonial facades, and centuries of craftsmanship.

Notas de Obra - “The Double Headed Serpent Necklace”.

This necklace draws inspiration from the double headed serpent, a ceremonial ornament made of carved cedar and turquoise mosaic by the Mexica. It embodies their understanding of duality, where opposites are not seen as contradictions but as complementary forces that create balance and harmony.

I hand carved this piece in wax and left room to add glimmering diamond eyes for my personal piece, which I still haven’t created for myself! I usually don’t make much jewelry for me, but this year I decided to start my own personal collection to wear, after all, I get asked all the time if what I’m wearing is mine. I’m slowly creating each piece, including this one, as I get self conscious about spending so much on gold if it’s not something I’m going to sell. But after all, I’m learning to let myself enjoy wearing them as much as I enjoy making them.

The Cendal Ring! An interplay of smoky quartz and pink tourmaline, and turquoise and green tourmaline.
Inspired by the Mesoamerican use of inlaid shell and copper discs in intricate works such as burial sculptures and jaguar representations.
