It has happened. The building has sold. After 38 years on Canyon Road the Silver Sun will be closing our Santa Fe location. Cheryl plans to travel and spend time with her family and friends. First up, when it is warmer, may be a trip to Anchorage, Alaska to visit with her big sister. Deanna plans to continue to share her love of turquoise and her support of Native American artists. She and Kathleen will continue to operate Silver Sun Albuquerque. We hope you will visit them.
It has been our goal to provide Native American artists a place to showcase the wonderful handmade products they produce. As runaway school teachers Deanna and Cheryl wanted everyone to see and learn about the finer details of turquoise and to appreciate what goes into creating a beautiful handmade piece of jewelry.
Through the years we have become friends with many of you. We have watched children grow up. It gives us great joy to have helped you select anniversary, graduation, holiday and special occasion gifts for your families and friends. We hope those gifts are cherished as much by them, as we cherish the time spent with you in selecting the perfect gift. We have become “story collectors” over the years. That is what has made our time here at the Silver Sun so special. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
While the building has been on the market for some time, this seems to have happened very quickly to us. We are planning a thank you and farewell celebration for Feb 16th. We just don’t have all the details yet. In the meantime our annual sale continues. We hope to see many of you in the gallery before our doors close in late February.
Beautiful stones, creative artists and enthusiastic customers have made these 38 years a wonderful experience. We are blessed to have had you all in our Silver Sun family.
With gratitude,
Deanna, Cheryl, Kathleen,
Robin, Donna, Sandra and Lynn
