This is special and rare color for chrysoprase. This stone I actually acquired quite a while ago and then decided I no longer liked the piece it was in, so I recycled the metals and kept the stone. I knew I had to do more to elevate this stone the second time around, I spent a long time working on the design with the elements at the bench. It was a bit more technical to construct than it looks - getting the angles cut and fit around the perimeter takes patience.

Snake is one of my favorite themes to explore as a jeweler. I think the form and it's ever changing and infinite variations are timeless. Some of the earliest adornments in metal and stone are serpentine. It is a powerful symbol of growth and transformation for all of humanity. I am drawn to this subject, and each time I create one, it never fails to lull me into the flow state. I really had to work with the metal here to get everything to look right, and for the parallel and intertwining sections to come together at the right places and angels, as well as for the pattern to flow throughout the body of the piece.

Oscuro collection gets an update!

The oxidized silver collection, Oscuro, is now available in a new finish, ruthenium vermeil. This is a new, durable alternative to traditional semi permanent surface patina treatments that blacken metal. I am very excited to share it with you, it is an element that is in the platinum group and it is used in many different industries. It is anti corrosive and hypoallergenic!

Finishing off the week with this one of a kind along with more orders I have lined up and stock for ACC Baltimore.

It’s a funny time for jewelers now. Between the rising cost of materials and people using ai to design “their work”, I have many thoughts swirling in my head in regards to my life path.

I will continue making things because it’s what I do. Making jewelry is more like a way of life for me at this point. I appreciate all of the humans who are here, seeing this, and supporting me in this industry.

The idea behind this pendant was to make something elegant with high quality stones, in all silver. I absolutely love working in silver. Silver and I get along really well. I just wanted to show possibility really, in the past I would have done this in mixed metals, I just kind of wanted to see how it would turn out. Also just fyi doing a two stone piece is really a lot more complicated and complex than a one stone piece, but I think it’s very powerful. I can’t wait to see it finished!

There are lots of places that sell jewelry. I just think if you are gonna wear something everyday it’s important to think about where it came from. It’s kind of like grocery shopping except instead of putting it in your body you put it on your body.

A beautiful capture of some of my core collection designs in the new Luz finish. I made a very subtle change in my final finish and I am very happy with how it pulls all of my work together in terms of finish. Yes, the ⭕️ unites my work, but so do many other subtle factors in the choices I make to bring a piece of jewelry to market. In this case, I have swapped the oxidized interior contrast and brushed finish for a more naked look that resembles my Estrella (light finish mixed metals) collection.

Why - well, I like it, it looks more modern to me and it pulls all of my work together. I always felt the different finish was an outlier. And it was and has been very popular when made this way! (Still want it the old way - I’m not a giant corporation so just send me a message and I’ll do it for you upon request, at no additional charge) Maybe I needed a change, partly. But as one of my goals is to make totally wearable work I want these pieces to be extremely easy to care for. As it turns out the oxidation and satin finish is something that needs a few extra steps to be restored, and it can’t be cleaned using drug store jewelry cleaning solutions. This finish, or rather, lack there of, is the absolute easiest to clean and keep up (or let it tarnish naturally if you prefer that - another beautiful option).

So that’s the story on that. Next post I will share the updates I have made to my Oscuro collection. Let me know what you think about this change, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

I am very excited about my new product images featuring some of my most favorite new works by . This Blossom Pendant features a totally amazing and rare quality chrysoprase () I have had for a long time, and I actually destroyed an old piece to make a new piece with it because it’s just so juicy and vibrant (natural)!

I am so pleased with the design and the size of the pendant. It’s a nice medium size that will be comfortable and still have a presence.

There will never be another piece like this, it is a rare and beautiful one of a kind.

Super excited to be finishing some of my new high end silver pieces. I am working on a new collection of work that is going to be *very wearable*. By that I mean hopefully these are pieces you will live in. Not special occasions but everyday pieces that are like your signature go to pieces of jewelry. Jewelry as talisman should make you feel powerful and protected, maybe even a little bit fierce.
