A new customer came in with this cool pearl he found in an oyster while he was on a family trip! Dad drilled it to make a necklace for this customer’s daughter. Hope she loves it! Turned out so cool!

A new customer came in last with a surprise! He was on vacation with his family and bit into an oyster with this big pearl in it! So to commemorate that trip - his daughter’s first JazzFest! - he made a necklace with the pearl for her. Follow along to watch Dad drill the pearl! This Memorial Day, and every single day of every year, we honor those who gave their lives in defense of our country and the freedoms and liberties we have as Americans because of it. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.

I have had the tremendous honor and privilege of working with and knowing deeply many members of our U.S. Armed Forces. Many of us in the diplomatic community joined the Foreign Service without needing to contend with the very real possibility that we would have to face death or serious bodily harm in our line of service. Every single soldier I met, every single one, knew this was a possibility, and still, they chose service. Thank you for choosing to defend our precious country. America is so lucky to have you all.

And to those whose loved ones fell in the line of duty - thank you. Thank you. We will never take your sacrifice for granted.
