Meet Lauren Newton, the newest designer in our cases.

Lauren was a zoologist before she became a metalsmith, and she has spent the last 12 years making jewelry in Brooklyn. Her work pulls from antique and Victorian pieces and from a real love of kitsch, and it comes out bold and chunky in solid gold.

With us you’ll find Sparky the Robot, whose arms and legs really move, a candy dispenser charm with a skull for a head that tips back like the original, her Rainbow Scallop charm and her Rainbow Scallop bands. The last slide pairs one of her bands with our Petite Phoebe.

We have one or two of most of these, so if one is calling you, come try it on. DM us, and we’ll tell you which store has it.

Visit us in the Mission, Fillmore, or Los Gatos and tell the team you’re here for . We’ll bring out the pieces. You build your favorite stack: rings, necklaces, charms, anything in the studio.

Then:
Photograph your stack in the studio.
Post it to your stories, tag FIAT LUX | Piercing & Fine Jewelry and add .

That’s your entry. We’ll repost as many as we can.

Rainie from Carve & Cast teaches you how to carve a ring or pendant from jeweler’s wax. The theme is Choose Your Own Adventure. First time or experienced, you’re welcome. You must be 16 or older.

Each session caps at 5 people, so everyone gets attention. Carve & Cast casts your piece in sterling silver and ships it to you afterward, or you can pick it up at one of our stores.

In August, we said this one would go to subscribers first. It will. Last time, 3 of the 5 seats went to the newsletter before the link was public, and this time subscribers get the link 24 hours before everyone else.

A salt and pepper diamond, rose cut into a hexagon, in a Casia Vestra design by DMD Metal. This exact stone is the only one, and it’s waiting at our Mission store.

We stacked it with two bands that follow its shape. The Unchained Naiad by Anastassia Sel curves its marquise diamonds around the top, and our own Hazeline in 18K gold and diamond baguettes makes the V underneath.

The Casia Vestra is bespoke-ish. The ring stays the same and the stone changes, so if this one finds its person first, we can build yours around a different diamond in about 6 to 8 weeks.

The Naiad and the Hazeline are at all three of our stores. Come try the full stack on in the Mission, or send us a DM for more photos and video.

Our first Taste of Los Gatos is officially in the books.
We opened our doors for the day and hosted Prolific, a local winery, pouring their 2019 Cabernet right here in the shop. Their owners are some of the kindest people we’ve met in this town, and having them in for the festival made the whole day better.

Thank you to everyone who wandered in from the street, browsed the cases, and stayed for a glass. Thanks our amazing team. 💪🏼

The Los Gatos Chamber organizes events like this all year. We had no idea how much until we got to be part of one ourselves. Already looking forward to the next Taste of Los Gatos.
