Hello friends! Catch me slinging jewels over at the No Man’s Land Film Festival next week with 🎥🧗🏽‍♀️

I’ll be crawling my way out of the newborn mom haze I’ve been in for the last 11 weeks & there is no where I’d rather be than with celebrating women & bipoc adventurers with my climbing community.

This will be my 3rd year in a row at the festival. I am always blown away by the films & have made connections each year that have remained treasured to this day ♥️

Hi friends! As you know, e&o is a one-woman show. I handle everything from designing, production, packaging- you name it!

But I’d been tag teaming the business with my little girl in my belly for most of 2024.

Now that she’s here, I am busy soaking up every minute of her squishy face & rolly rolls!

Not exactly sure when we’ll be resuming business as usual, but our first in person event will be Saturday, May 10th at the SD Made Spring Market held in downtown La Mesa. I am excited to get out & be a part of this maker community again!

We’ll have some new jewelry goodies available at shopemberandonyx.com prior to May, but it’ll take me a little time to get everything up & attem! Stay tuned 🙌🏾

In other news, the world is a difficult place at the moment. It’s been hard to tune into everything while trying to enjoy this little happy baby bubble with my partner.

Greg said it best- it feels like the end of the second movie in the trilogy where the bad guys are on top & you can’t see any way through the darkness.

But there’s just gotta be a third movie after this. One where we continue to fight to protect our values & our people. One where racism is wrong, people’s bodies are not policed, all love is celebrated, science is valued (& the list goes on). You can’t put people back in the closet.

It might be cheesy to quote here but as dark as these days feel, I do find comfort in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s words: “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

My black, native, brown friends, my q***r, trans, enby friends, women identifying friends- these are scary times. You’re not alone. You deserve to be here & to celebrate your existence, your joy & your love. There’s nothing I feel like I can say to make this season feel any better but I have to believe in a more accepting & just world ahead. If not for myself & my community then for my little baby girl.

TLDR: e&o is on mat leave. Will be at SD Made Spring Market on May 10th. Currently enjoying time with the tiny human I created with my favorite person. Everything else right now, politically & environmentally, is pretty dark. But not forever 🙌🏾
