As our business and social media pages continue to grow, we wanted to re-introduce ourselves.
We are Amanda and James Hunter of Shop Vintage at Minx and Onyx.
We are proud Gen Xers who have spent more than 40 years wearing, trading, buying, selling, styling, studying, repairing, redesigning, and learning about vintage.
Amanda Jim Hunter is an object artist, vintage curator, wardrobe stylist, and sustainable fashion and jewelry designer who works with clients from around the world.
“Taking broken, torn, unwanted things and making them come alive again is my true passion. I am an artist first, fashion designer second.”
Empowering others is at the heart of what we do. Throughout most of our lives, we have worked with children, teenagers, and adults, teaching fashion, business, and education while encouraging self-advocacy and empowerment through multiple internship programs.
We fight the good fight and help others along the way.
We believe clothing has no gender.
We believe true self-expression and individuality in fashion are powerful.
We believe style should tell your story.
Avant-garde fashion shows and editorial photo shoots are some of our favorite creative outlets Untamable: The Sustainable Fashion Show
We also love collaborating with fellow artists as a way to build community to show respect and support.
Philanthropic initiatives and education around slow fashion are part of how we give back.
Most of all, we have learned that it is all about the journey, not the destination.
