I buy all of my materials from small businesses here in the U.S. It’s one of the ways I try to give back to the makers, families, and local communities that keep this industry going. It may be more expensive and take a little longer, but it matters.

I’ve ordered from for years, but during cancer treatment I stepped away from business for a while. I recently placed my first order back and was so surprised to find a handwritten note tucked inside my package. They noticed I hadn’t ordered in some time and even included a discount code for my next purchase. 😭❤️

This is why shopping small matters. Behind these businesses are real people who notice, care, and add a personal touch you just won’t find with the big box companies.

I really missed making things during treatment, but I didn’t realize how much I had missed the quiet ritual of packaging each piece and making it feel special.

After everything, I find myself wanting to spend my time more intentionally and thoughtfully, especially in the things I create.

Hi friends! I’m still here, I just haven’t been checking this profile that much. I’m happy to report that I finished chemotherapy on January 20th! I had 16 treatments over 6 months. I’m having surgery next week, then everything after that is TBD. This has been a long and arduous experience. I haven’t felt like creating much over the past few months (and I’m dealing with some unsteadiness and weakness in my hands), but I’m hoping that changes soon as I do miss working on new designs and sharing what I’ve been up to.

So grateful for my maker friends. Getting a diagnosis like this is such a gut punch, but seeing WHO shows up for you and HOW is a blessing. I am truly blown away by the kindness everyone has shown me through messages, cards, flowers, donations, gifts. It’s been so amazing.
