The earrings in this collection are in three categories: there are three pairs of carnelian, four pairs of lapis lazuli, five pairs of onyx, and three pairs with light blue gems (I'll specify in each one). Earrings take time and patience to make, especially when I have to use the silver wire to create the secure loop that goes into the top part of the earring. I love creating the earrings because each one is a labor of love. Take a look at them and tell me what you think.

Earrings take a lot of work especially when working with silver wire because it requires patience and makes for very sore fingers after a few hours. These earrings don't come from a book with directions or a ready made kit. Each pair is unique and it is created from scratch. No machines involved (I wish) so you will notice, when you put the pair of earrings right next to each other, that sometimes there are very small variations between each other. Since like I said earlier these are made by hand( mine) there will be small imperfections. That's how you know they are made by hand! When you put them on your ears you can't tell the small differences because now they are apart, the eyes don't focuse on the imperfections. These are just a few pics so you can get an idea of what the collection looks like. I will take individual pictures tomorrow and will try to post them in the next couple of days. I will include a brief description of each pair and the prices. All earrings are fitted with sterling silver, posts, lever back or, fishing hook so ears will not get irritated for those, like me, that can't wear costume jewelry earrings.

I have been cleaning silver on a collection of earrings and refitting some of them with new silver parts so that I can take pictures and post them in the next couple of days. It's tedious and slow going. I've been cleaning and sinning other silver parts( all very small) for a couple of days and I'm ready for a break. Sorry or the whining I'm excited to post pictures of the earrings! Lapis lazuli or lapis is a semiprecious gemstone that has been used and prized since antiquity because of its intense blue color. This stone was mined in northern Afghanistan as early as the 7th millennia B.C. This stone has been found in some Neotlithic burials. Lapis was used inTutankhamen burial gold mask. You will find lapis sometimes with some golden flecks of pyrite, or mottled with white specks of calcite. It's deep celestial blue remains til today as a symbol of royalty and honor, spirit and vision. It's a universal symbol of wisdom ant truth. Lapis is a high-vibration stone and possesses enormous serenity. It's a great stone to aid spiritual attainment and a powerful thought amplifier that stimulates higher mental faculties and enhances creativity. Most of the lapis still comes from mines in the northern region of Afghanistan and also Pakistan. The Andes region of Chile also produces beautiful lapis. You don't have to believe in any of the metaphysical properties of gemstones to actually benefit from their energy. I'm a rock hound and have been collecting gemstones for many years. I have read and own many books about all gemstones and I love to always offer a little information about the gemstones I use. If nothing else it offers a little information for those who are a little curious to learn something new.

I have decided that I'm going to retake the pictures of the lapis pieces in natural sunlight just like I did with the carnelian collection and the onyx collection. Carnelian is my favorite gemstone. It can come in deep red, cinnamon, orange, light brown, and almost transparent. It is said that carnelian is a protective stone while traveling. I always wear carnelian when I travel. It's a nurturing stone and specially when faceted it almost glows when in natural light. I can make earnings if you would like. Short, medium or long. Set in sterling silver lever backs, posts or fishing hooks. For those that can't wear fake stuff, like me, if you ar not allergic to sterling silver my earrings will never irritate your ears .

I'm trying to supplement my finances by promoting and getting the word out there about one of a kind jewelry pieces. Most of the other necklaces posted a few years ago are either not available anymore or have been recycled and made into another piece of jewelry. Remember that my necklaces are one of a kind because I create each and everyone of them as I get inspired. No two are alike.
