Hello Midwest Oregon APA Players. We had our Spring Tri-Annuals last weekend. It was little packed, but we made do and pushed through it. Thank you all for working together.
We had 32 teams qualifying for Tri-Annuals and out of the 32 we had 8 teams qualifying for World’s in June. Congratulations to all the winners.
We started off on Friday night, packed the house at Phil’s, Jammers and Blue Diamond. We did the same thing on Saturday morning. This eliminated a few teams right off the bat. Gate Keepers, Chalk Tua, Brews & Cues, Double Kiss This, For the Cause, Jay’s Kolby’s Kats, Hot Damn, & We didn’t know. We had 4 teams go undefeated and won their spot to Worlds. Those teams were Chalk & Awe, Randy’s Renegades, Shenanigans, & Pocket Protectors. Good job, Congratulations to all of you.
On the backside of the bracket, we had some great matches. We had The Good, the Bad & the Ugly, take-out Chalk & Roll, Navigators, Double Kiss this. They played Hot Pockets in the last match and fell short to get the win and a spot in Worlds.
12th Street Dojo took out Smooth Strokers, and Chalk Tua. They came up against Dysfunctional Adults who were able to take the win and come back Sunday morning to face Deadpool. Dead Pool hung in there, but Dysfunctional Adults were able to take the win and are now off to Worlds in June.
Here & There was able to go undefeated on the back side of the bracket and won their spot in Worlds. Pocket Lint was also able to secure their spot in World’s by taking out the Honey Badgers. Congratulations to all the players. Everyone shot well. We had one player who had a mastectomy less than 3 weeks ago and she was playing her heart out!! Kudo to you, Cami Cox. You did a great job.
We would like to thank all the players for their great sportsmanship, the referee’s Morey Marks, Alex Lofton, Shawn Self, Jimmy Arellanes and of course Glenn Maresh. It’s not easy being a ref and having the players want to argue or disagree with you. We appreciate you all more than you know. Thank you again for your help.
We would like to thank Phil’s Bar & Grill, Jammers, & Blue Diamond & staff for hosting and serving all the players all day long. We really appreciate you and all you do for these players. World for 8 Ball is June 5th-7th.
