Happy Monday, St. Joseph!

We’re waking up to milder temperatures across the region. Here in downtown St. Joseph, morning lows are in the mid-30s, and much of northwest Missouri is starting in the upper 30s and low 40s — giving us a break from those recent freezing mornings.

Through the day today, we’ll warm quickly into the mid-60s, near 63°, with plenty of sunshine.

Overnight tonight into Tuesday, winds will shift from the northeast to the south, bringing in warmer air and gusty conditions. That southerly flow will help temperatures climb into the low 70s for Tuesday.

We stay warm through Thursday, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Scattered rain chances return on Thursday as a system moves in, and that will start a gradual cool-down toward the end of the work week.

By Friday and Saturday, highs drop back into the low to mid-60s, and by Sunday we’re back in the 50s.

Temperatures will continue to drop below freezing tonight, with overnight lows expected in the upper 20s.

A Freeze Warning has been issued for Nov. 2 for Northwest Missouri and Atchison and Doniphan counties in Kansas. The warning will take effect at 1 a.m. and last until 8 a.m. Frost tonight could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

Sunday morning will start off cold but gradually warm up throughout the day, reaching the upper 50s. Southerly winds will return, helping with the slight warm-up. Mostly sunny skies will prevail.

Sunny conditions will last throughout next week, and temperatures will continue to rise into the 60s.

Plus, tonight at 2 a.m., time will “fall back” one hour as daylight saving time ends. Don’t forget to set your clocks!

Good morning St. Joseph, and happy Halloween!

We’re waking up to another cold and spooky start this Halloween morning. A Frost Advisory is in effect for Buchanan County, Clinton County, and counties south of Highway 36, where temperatures may dip to freezing — or very close to it again early today.

Areas north of Highway 36 are not included in the advisory since they have already had several mornings of colder temperatures and vegetation has adjusted to the chill.

Today will feel very similar to yesterday with highs only in the mid to upper 50s. We’ll see pockets of sunshine and the chance for some patchy fog again early tomorrow morning.

For trick-or-treaters tonight, expect temperatures in the low 50s to upper 40s during prime candy-collecting time. If you’re staying out late, temperatures will fall into the low 30s, so make sure to bundle up under those costumes!

As we head into Saturday morning, a Freeze Watch is in effect with temperatures expected to drop below freezing. Saturday will be our coldest day of the week, with highs only near 50°.

After Saturday, we start a warming trend — upper 50s on Sunday, low 60s by Monday, and upper 60s by mid-week next week.

Clouds will increase Friday evening and overnight, with temperatures falling into the 40s after sunset and low 30s after midnight.

Good morning, St. Joseph, and happy Thursday! We’re almost to Halloween, and we’re starting the morning off on a very cold note. You’ll definitely want those heavy jackets, and maybe even gloves and warm layers, as temperatures are sitting in the low to mid-30s with wind chills making it feel even colder.

A Frost Advisory is in effect from 4 AM to 8 AM due to the potential for frost on sensitive vegetation. If you still have plants outside, it’s a good idea to bring them in or cover them especially with more cold mornings ahead through the end of the week.

A little patchy fog is possible around sunrise, but otherwise we stay dry with a few clouds today. This afternoon we warm into the mid-50s, near 55°, under mostly sunny skies.

Looking ahead to Halloween, we’re just a touch warmer than today, and the forecast stays dry for trick-or-treating. Evening temperatures will fall quickly into the mid-40s, eventually dipping into the upper 30s to low 30s overnight, so make sure costumes have an extra layer underneath!

Overnight lows stay in the 30s through Sunday, and daytime highs stay mainly in the low 50s on Saturday. We finally warm back into the 60s as we head into next week, with dry weather continuing through the middle of next week.

Mostly cloudy and breezy conditions Wednesday afternoon will give way to clearing skies, light winds, and chilly temperatures overnight. Frost is possible across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas early Thursday morning as temperatures near the freezing mark.

A Frost Advisory has been issued region-wide from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday. Cold sensitive vegetation should be protected as areas of light frost could be damaging, although a hard freeze is not expected.

Cool, dry, and mostly sunny days will make for a fair end to the week, with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 50s through Halloween. Overnight lows are likely to fall near freezing Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night- bringing additional opportunities for early morning frost.

Sunshine persists through the weekend, giving way to a warming trend early next week as afternoon highs return to the 60s with overnight lows well above freezing.

Good morning, St. Joseph! We’re waking up to another cold and windy day across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. Temperatures are starting off in the mid-40s, but it feels much colder thanks to strong gusty winds blowing around the rain.

Overnight, wind gusts reached up to 43 mph at the St. Joseph airport, and gusts will continue in the 30 to 40 mph range through the first half of the day. A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. After lunchtime, winds will begin to calm, staying in the upper teens to low 20s through the afternoon.

Light rain continues this morning, adding to what has already been over half an inch across the region a welcome dose of much-needed rainfall.

Highs today will only reach the low 50s, and tonight temperatures will fall into the mid to low 30s. A Frost Advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday as patchy frost could form on vegetation. Be sure to bring in or cover sensitive plants if you haven’t already.

Cold overnight lows will stick around through Sunday morning, meaning more frost potential heading into the weekend just in time for a chilly Halloween night.

Thankfully, sunshine returns later this week, but highs will remain in the 50s until Sunday, when temperatures finally rebound into the 60s and those milder temperatures look to stick around into early next week.

Wind gusts of 30 to 45 mph will be possible across the advisory area. Unsecured objects could be blown around, and fallen tree limbs could cause a few scattered power outages.

A 90% chance of rain persists overnight with temperatures falling from near 50 degrees into the mid to low 40s after sunset. Mostly cloudy skies and a 40% chance of showers lingers early Wednesday before conditions dry out for the afternoon with highs in the low to mid 50s and gusty northwest winds.

Good morning, St. Joseph! We’re waking up to another gloomy and soggy Tuesday across the region. Early this morning, you may notice patchy fog and reduced visibility, along with damp roads and saturated soil from light overnight drizzle.

Conditions will only get wetter throughout the day as rain chances increase by late morning. A cold front will be moving through the area will bring steady, measurable rainfall through the afternoon, evening, and into early Wednesday.

Over the next 24 to 36 hours, rainfall totals could reach half an inch to an inch, providing much-needed relief for drought conditions across northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas.

Thanks to the rain and thick cloud cover, and the cold front temperatures will stay cool, with a high near 54 degrees today and 52 degrees on Wednesday. Overnight lows will dip back into the 30s, and highs will stay in the 50s through Sunday, keeping things feeling very fall-like.
