❤️Love Story at JR Benet❤️

Where one date night became forever... Read Sam and Monasita's full love story below.

"In early 2022 my wife and I were on a romantic date night in St. Augustine's historic district. After a beautiful evening of walking around the shops and a dinner reservation at Michael's Steakhouse, we decided to finish our night by popping into a charming little jewelry store called Jr Benet. We walked around the counters looking at all the beautiful artisan jewelry and finally made it to the Caribbean Opal counter in the very back of the shop. My wife's favorite. Knowing this about her, and having done a little research beforehand about Jr Benet, we started browsing through and I happened to point out a beautiful ring. "Do you like that one?" I asked my then girlfriend. "Oh! It is very pretty. My gosh what a beautiful ring." I asked the associate helping us if they had the ring in the right size and, wouldn't you know it, that particular ring was one of a kind and just the size we were looking for. In the heat of the serendipitous moment the associate handed me the ring, I got down on my knee, and I proposed to the woman of my dreams right then and there. It was a moment for the ages. We proceeded to pay for the ring and walk outside and into Tedi's ice cream shop to celebrate.

6 Months later on yet another date night in St. Augustine, still in bliss, I took my wife to Michael's Steakhouse once more and walking out we thought, "Why not go into Jr Benet and say hi." We walked in, looked at the counters, made our way back to that fateful Caribbean Opal and that was when I found out that not only was I engaged to the woman of my dreams but, that I was also going to become a dad. My wife gave me a small box, gift wrapped, with a stick inside that made my dreams into my reality. Jr Benet has and always will be a most special place in our hearts, in the story of our family, and in the many memories we have yet to make in St. Augustine."

Sign up now to attend the 15th Annual Pin Up Paws Party! This exciting event will sell out.

The 15th Annual Pin Up Paws Gilded Paw Gala will take place on Thursday, October 23rd, at The White Room, located at 1 King St. During the gala, we will unveil the new calendar featuring a museum-inspired art theme.

The Pin Up Paws Campaign is the largest fundraising effort hosted by the Humane Society each year. All funds raised will directly support our lifesaving programs and resources that provide care to pets in need.

Our Pin Up Paws Parties are always entertaining, and this year will be no exception. The event will include dinner, complimentary wine, a silent auction, a cash bar, a wine pull, live music by The House Cats jazz quartet, and a caricature artist. Each guest will receive a copy of the museum art-inspired 2026 calendar.

Tickets are $135 per person and can be purchased online or at the front desk of the St. Augustine Humane Society, located at 1665 Old Moultrie Rd. Learn more and reserve your spot today at www.PUPparty.org.
