These Bolivian Rosewood earrings went to their home today!

An exceptionally dark wood, as it ages it will have a dark reddish/brown color with the black grain really popping. The pattern on these (though hard to see right now) is exceptionally nice.

Also, holding it up to my lip and saying "I mustache you a question" is a guaranteed laugh from the kids every time 🤣

Side note, my burn is healing well. Proper and prompt first aid was a game changer. I should be able to resume carving soon!

Do to a rather nasty burn I got while cooking, I'll be unable to carve for probably about a week or two.

I saw something similar to this online a few years back, but never got around to actually making it.

While I was at the bench working on other items though, I decided to give it a whirl. Pretty simple and straightforward, but they still need to be sanded, oiled, and waxed so they look pretty. I'll post them up when they're finished.

Also, the potential for personalizing these where the reader will always see it is pretty nice 😉

Two projects nearing completion!

The bear is small enough to fit in a closed fist. It'll be sanded to around 1500 grit and then spend around a week in an oil bath to make the grain pop.

The welcome sign is scrap I had laying around, and threw stain on. It'll get put out front in the center of a little raised bed garden.

Still in progress: Bolivian Rosewood earrings, Sloth, a mushroom.

In concept stage: live edge console table, possibly other signs.
