Silver Wings: Andrew J. Dougherty Chapter at RIT

Silver Wings: Andrew J. Dougherty Chapter at RIT We are a group of civilian citizens and Air Force cadets who work together to develop our members in The Andrew J.

Dougherty Chaper of Silver Wings was founded in 2013. We operate through the Air Force ROTC Detachment 538 at the Rochester Institute of Technology. We are a group of civilian citizens and Air Force cadets coming together to serve our community, learn about military air power, and to promote personal and professional development of our members. As a self-governed organization, all positions on a l

ocal, regional, and national level are held by various students in Silver Wings. Not only are there many positions in our local chapter, but students may run for higher positions at the national level. As a part of the National and Regional Silver Wings, we work on two annual annual projects that are nationwide for the participation of all chapters: the Joint National Project (JNP) and the Signature National Project (SNP). This years JNP is called Reaching Out, which focusing on serving those with disabilities. Our SNP is always a three year project to supplement the JNP by growing our identity as civilian supporters of the military. Our current SNP is the Promotion of National Defense, which focuses on promoting civic awareness of the the air power of all branches of the military, and the need of better aerospace power for continued successful missions.
