Sunday starts in the low 40s in the Star City and climbs to the mid 60s under sunny skies, and Monday looks even nicer, sunny and up near 73. The Historic City Market has been an open-air market since 1882, and the building standing there now dates to 1922. It's open year-round, closed only Christmas and New Year's, so folks at the Market are out there no matter the weather. Hope your coffee's hot this morning, Roanoke.

In the Roanoke Valley, first frost usually holds off until around Oct. 22, the latest of our five towns, so the valley doesn't rush its color. Up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, peak runs mid-to-late October into early November. McAfee K**b sees 50,000+ hikers a year and is the most-photographed spot on the whole Appalachian Trail, so somebody's out there with a camera this week. Tell us where you've seen the best color so far.

GO Fest wraps up today at Elmwood Park, new this year after moving over from River's Edge. Roanoke usually gets its first frost around Oct 22, the latest of our five towns, so that first properly cold morning is still just ahead. Might be time to dig the jacket out of the closet.
