The rich landscape of Northern California has been an ongoing muse for Camille's art. She is also deeply moved by the intricacies and general quirkiness of life; her work is a spiritual practice in homage to these inspirations. Her attraction to wearable art is in the relationship she has with the wearer of the piece she created. Camille holds a belief that all of her work is a collaboration. The

creation of a piece is a give and take conversation with the metals or fibers. Each medium has their own characteristics; their own personalities, and the artist must learn how they like to be approached in order to convince them to do what the artist wants them to do. Once the language is learned, the creative process can flourish. The second collaboration is with the wearer. Clothing, jewelry and accessories are not complete until they become an expression of personal style. It is only then that the piece comes alive, completing the statement made by the artist. That being said, each piece is designed to be decorative wherever it lives. There is no need to tuck these pieces away in drawers or boxes. They are much happier adorning their environment.

Sometimes the most beautiful things emerge from the cracks.

This is New Beginnings - one of my most personal pieces. An egg, cracked open, with a diamond being birthed from within. It’s about hope. It’s about transformation. It’s about the courage it takes to start again.

We all have those moments when life cracks us open. When everything we thought we knew shifts. When we realize we’re becoming someone new. And sometimes, in those vulnerable broken-open places, something precious emerges.
