120 years ago, our shop went up in flames during the Great Earthquake of 1906. Christian Stegman, just 12 years old, witnessed the city burn from Twin Peaks after surviving the quake. Though their house was damaged, the shop on Market Street bore the brunt. The next day, it burned down alongside 80% of San Francisco. Miraculously, we salvaged some equipment and all the steel dies, which we still use today. The Stegman family spent two years manufacturing in their house basement before rebuilding and relocating a few blocks up Market Street. Through it all, we've endured earthquakes, wars, depressions, and more. Christian's advice still rings true: to survive, be ready to change and lean into it.

Vintage One of a Kind Big Ass Buckle-This is a authentic vintage 1981 buckle, 1 of 1 from our archives and measures 4 1/2”X6 1/2” and made of nickel and jewelers bronze. We use to call these, “Pie Plates” because they’re BIG. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. But totally awesome. American Made Since 1886
