A small collection of earrings are headed to ! I'm still not sure what to call this group of designs, but for whatever it's worth they were inspired by my kid and being a new parent. Paper chains, confetti, quick crafts...I wanted to make something fun and beautiful that I could literally make more quickly because I had less time as a new mom. I gave myself limited material format (brass strip, 1.5" & 3" long) and said GO! The result I think is modern, and a little fun, and very wearable. Available in both bright finish brass, and darkened with gold leafed accents.

Fun lightweight brass stair step earrings. I love how the shadows embellish the simply formed sheet metal.

When you feel compelled to take a silly selfie in the studio and realize you took the same picture 10 years ago. Things look like they haven't changed much in these photos but if I had told 10 yrs ago Emily that she would be farming in northern MN with 2 kids in addition to having a jewelry practice, I definitely wouldn't have believed her. My life as a jeweler isn't what I had imagined or hoped for back then, but what ever is? I am living so much more life than being a jewelry artist at the moment and the fact that I still make things is a win in my book. And evidence of my hard work over the years to keep my foot in that door no matter how difficult it has been (especially now!) I continue to work and learn and grow as an artist and a mother and a caretaker of animals and so much more. It is a strange sensation to look back at a time in your life that still feels relevant and fresh and realize it was a decade ago. I suppose that's what living is.
