There are some stories that can’t be told all at once.

That is what inspired my newest Charm Collectors.

Rather than creating one finished necklace, i wanted to create something that could grow alongside your life. A place to collect the moments, people, and places that matter most.

Each new charm holder opens, some with a special handmade hinge, making it easy to add new charms as your story unfolds.

I love the idea that twenty years from now a necklace could hold reminders of adventures, milestones, loved ones, and everyday moments that deserve to be remembered.

Because the best stories are written one chapter at a time.

I’ve been a bit quiet here on social media and at my bench for the last year.

I figure it’s time for a little reintroduction.

I’m Canela, owner of CinnamonSticks.

I’m a wife, mom of 7, well really 8 now that i have a daughter-in-law, and i am a jewelry designer and metalsmith of over 27 years.

This past year has been the hardest of my life, which lead to some pretty significant burnout.
Have you ever lost your creative desire before? How did you cope through it?

I’m happy to finally be returning to my workbench to design work creatively again. I have a new collection i will be releasing at the end of the month and i will be sharing a bit more about that in the coming days.

In the meantime i want to share some of the highlights from the last year because focusing on the joys in life has been one of the best ways to survive the hard ones.

-last July i finished my 3rd year of classes where i earned my formal certification as a jeweler with advanced bench skills.

-Our oldest son married his high school sweetheart and they are coming up on their one year anniversary 💕

-Our youngest son graduated high school and turned 18. So we now have 6 adult children

-5 of our 7 kids will be in college this school year with our youngest starting middle school.

-After several health scares and complications i have learned to prioritize my health and i have returned to my love of hiking hitting the trails at least 3 times per week.

-We are still going strong in our Downtown Redlands retail store where is sell my jewelry designs and teach metalsmithing workshops.

I definitely have a stronger appreciation for celebrating the wins and seeking joy in the day to day. What wins are you celebrating this week?
