Dear Jones Cafe in Downtown Clayton,

Let me just start by saying your chili cheese fries are not playing around. I mean, when the waitress said, “You can order a half size,” I thought she was joking. But nope, that half-order landed on my table like it was auditioning for a food truck festival—overflowing with chili, cheese, and what I’m pretty sure was an entire potato farm.

Of course, I had to pair it with a classic red North Carolina hotdog, fully dressed in MCSO thats (mustard, chili, slaw, and onions) for youse guys that just moved here. 🤣

Is the hotdog a side or the main event? Honestly, I don’t know, but I’ll keep eating both until I figure it out.

And let’s talk drinks: Sundrop is soulmate and all, but there’s something about that Mello Yello at Jones that hits different. It doesn’t just quench thirst; it tickles your soul in a way that would make Wilford Brimley roll over in his grave.

Jones Café, you’ve got the lunchtime hustle down. Keep doing what you’re doing—my appetite and I appreciate it.
