Many of you know my husband and I are living & serving in Belize. Jeff serves as the Branch President over a large area here for our church. Since we do not have an established church building to meet in, the principal of the community school is graciously letting us meet in some classrooms.
In turn for their generosity we raised some money from our wonderful friends and family to help get some new desks made which are shown below. We can’t thankyou enough. They are beautiful and desperately needed.
The school we meet in, is ran by the government and virtually no support is given. This is a poor country and they barely have the funds to keep the school open.
The conditions of the school are dismal. From peeling paint, broken doors and windows, and ceiling fans that are bent and do not work. It is very hot in the jungle and I’m not sure how these children can focus on learning when the conditions are so bad. Yet, they are probably the happiest kids I’ve met.
We love these beautiful Mayan people and have a desire to help this community with their school. Our missionary volunteers a long with some of the members of their village will be painting, fixing cracks in the walls and floor, putting security bars on the windows and doors and getting new ceiling fans.
All products are imported to Belize which makes it expensive. If you would like to help contribute to fixing up this school we would greatly appreciate it.
Please message me so I can let you know how to send funds. Again, thank you for any support you may want to contribute.
