Our co-founder passed away this week after a long illness. She was the first to suggest I start selling my designs I'd just been making for fun and gifts. She invested in the business in numerous ways, from building our website, database, finding and applying for art shows/galleries, wrote and replied to emails, executed many years of taxes, graphic design, and marketing. All those things a moody broody artist struggles to get done. We had a natural division of labor until she was too ill to work. My mom was also proud she got to have a second career as a business owner years after retirement. I'm certain she's solving mysteries in a small British village in the sky where the coffee is always as good as the gossip and Ray Charles is all over the airwaves.
