Natural Line or Crack? 13 Easy Ways to Tell on Jade 🔍

This jade bangle has a very obvious line.

Would you buy it?

Because that line could be a natural internal feature…
or it could be a crack.

So, how can you tell?

Let’s check it together. 👇

1️⃣ LOOK

First, examine the surface carefully.

Does the line actually reach the surface?

If the line appears to stay inside the jade while the surface remains smooth, it may be an internal natural feature.

2️⃣ TOUCH

Gently run your fingernail across the line.

If your nail catches or feels a distinct step at the surface, pay close attention. The feature may be reaching the surface and could be a crack.

3️⃣ LIGHT

Now grab a flashlight. 🔦

But don’t just shine it straight through the bangle.

Move the light from different angles and watch how the line behaves.

If the feature appears to sit inside the stone and changes in appearance as you move the light, it may be an internal feature.

A crack that reaches the surface often appears more like a continuous break through the stone.

But remember:

LOOK 👀
TOUCH ☝️
LIGHT 🔦

And most importantly, don’t assume every line in jade is a crack.

Natural jadeite can contain internal features, textures, and inclusions. At the same time, visual inspection alone cannot always tell you exactly what a line is.

For valuable jade, professional examination is the safest choice.

So… would you buy this bangle?

From One Stone to One-of-a-Kind Jewelry 💚

Ever wonder what a simple piece of jade can become?

Here are a few custom pieces we’ve just finished. Maybe one of them was made for you. ✨

🐍 First, this custom jade bangle.

A delicate golden snake winds its way around the jade, with every single scale carefully detailed.

Elegant and feminine… but with just a little bit of wildness.

🇵🇭 And this one carries a much deeper meaning.

This jade pendant was custom-made with the Philippine flag.

Even when you’re thousands of miles away, wearing something that represents home can make you feel a little closer to it.

Sometimes, the smallest piece can carry the biggest feelings.

💚 And look at these seven little pendants.

They may look completely different, but they were all created from one single piece of jade.

Seven little pieces.
Seven different personalities.
And each one completely one of a kind.

That’s the beauty of custom jewelry.

It’s not about having something everyone else has.

It’s about taking a piece of stone and transforming it into something that belongs only to you.

From one stone…
to something with your story.

Do you see your custom piece here?

And if you could create your own jade jewelry, what would you turn a piece of stone into? 💭

🔔 Can You Hear the Difference Between These Jade Bangles?

Here we have four bangles.

1️⃣ Natural jadeite with no obvious natural lines
Listen…

Ding, ding, ding! 🔔

2️⃣ Natural jadeite with a natural line
Listen again…

Ding, ding…
The sound is similar, but slightly lower and less resonant.

3️⃣ A cracked bangle
Dull, dull, dull.

4️⃣ Treated jadeite
Dull, dull, dull.

👂 Can you hear the difference?

The sound can change depending on the stone’s structure, fractures, treatment, thickness, shape, and even how you tap it.

So while the sound test can be an interesting clue, it should never be used alone to determine whether a bangle is genuine or treated.

For valuable jadeite, a professional gemological report is still the safest way to verify the material and treatment status.

🔔 Different structure.
Different sound.
But don’t let your ears be the only judge!

Would you be able to hear the difference?

It Looks Black… But It’s Actually Green! 🖤💚

At first glance, this jade looks almost completely black.

But wait until I shine a light through it… 🔦

See that?!

Suddenly, a deep, rich green appears.

That’s the magic of Mocui.

In normal lighting, its intense dark-green color can be so saturated that it looks almost black. But when light passes through the stone, that hidden green reveals itself.

And here’s where the story gets even more interesting…

⛏️ Mocui has a fascinating nickname: “The Miner’s Tears.”

Why?

Mocui is typically found deep within jade deposits. When miners finally reach this dark-green material, it can sometimes be a sign that they’re getting close to the end of that section of the deposit.

And you can imagine why a mine owner might shed a few tears! 😭

💚 High-quality Mocui is relatively uncommon, especially material with strong color, good translucency, and attractive texture.

Its dark, understated appearance gives it a completely different personality from bright emerald-green jadeite.

It doesn’t scream for attention.

It reveals its beauty when you look closer.

Would you wear Mocui every day, or keep a piece like this in your collection?

Your Jade Bangle’s Perfect Match? 💚

Not sure what to wear with your jade bangle?

Try a jade bead bracelet.

It’s one of the easiest pieces to mix and match, and there are so many styles for both women and men.

✨ Want something brighter and more energetic?

Try a bracelet with rich, vivid color.

The beads may not be huge, but that beautiful color definitely gets noticed.

🌿 Prefer something more understated?

Go for fine, icy-textured jadeite.

It has a soft, elegant feel and looks beautiful paired with a lighter-colored jade bangle.

Then there’s something a little more unexpected…

Instead of traditional round beads, try oval-shaped beads.

They feel modern, unique, and just a little different.

And of course, there are plenty of options for men too.

🖤 Black “Wuji” jade has a mysterious, sophisticated feel, and black is incredibly easy to style.

Or choose something with deeper meaning, like this carved bead bracelet.

The repeating pattern represents holding onto good fortune and an endless flow of blessings.

And I love this style too…

The alternating large and small beads create a playful, modern look that’s easy to wear every day.

So which style would you choose?

💚 Vivid color
🌿 Icy and elegant
✨ Oval beads
🖤 Black Wuji jade
🍀 Meaningful carved design
🎨 Large + small beads

Yellow Jade Isn’t Just Yellow — 4 Shades You Need to Know 💛

Yellow jadeite is loved by many people because yellow is traditionally associated with wealth, prosperity, and good fortune.

But did you know there are many different shades of yellow jadeite?

Here are four beautiful tones to know:

🍯 1. Honey Yellow

Soft, warm, and translucent—this shade can look almost like real honey when light passes through it.

✨ 2. Golden Yellow

Richer and more saturated, with a bright golden tone that gives the jade a luxurious appearance.

🐓 3. Chicken-Oil Yellow

Yes, that's actually a traditional jade color name!

Chicken-oil yellow has a rich, creamy yellow tone with a warm, slightly oily-looking appearance.

🌰 4. Chestnut Yellow

A deeper yellow with subtle brownish undertones, creating a warmer and more earthy appearance.

But remember:

Different color doesn't automatically mean different quality.

When judging yellow jadeite, you still need to look at:

🌿 Texture
💧 Transparency
🎨 Color saturation
✨ Color distribution
💎 Overall condition

A beautiful yellow color is only part of the story.

That's what makes jadeite so fascinating—one color can have so many different personalities.

Which yellow would you choose?

🍯 Honey Yellow
✨ Golden Yellow
🐓 Chicken-Oil Yellow
🌰 Chestnut Yellow

Can a Damaged Jade Bangle Be Saved? 💚

We often get this question from customers:

“My jade bangle broke. What can I do with it?”

The answer depends on the quality of the jadeite and how much you love the piece.

If the bangle has beautiful 2T—fine texture and good transparency—like this one, it may still be worth transforming.

This bangle is incredibly icy and beautiful, but unfortunately, it has a break.

So what can we do?

✨ Option 1: Gold Accent

If you want to keep the original bangle shape, a skilled jeweler can use gold to cover and reinforce the damaged area, turning the break into part of the design.

✨ Option 2: Open Bangle

Another beautiful option is to cut the bangle into two sections and add a gold connector.

The result becomes an open-style bangle with a unique vintage-inspired look.

Instead of hiding the damage, you turn it into a feature.

But here's the important part:

Not every broken bangle is worth repairing.

If the jadeite has poor texture, low transparency, or limited value, spending a lot on gold work may not make sense.

In that case, sometimes the better choice is simply to find another beautiful natural jadeite bangle.

So before repairing a broken bangle, ask yourself:

💚 Is the jadeite quality worth preserving?
💚 Do I truly love the piece?
💚 Will the repair cost make sense?

Sometimes a broken bangle gets a second life.

And sometimes… it's time to find a new one.

What would you choose—gold accent or vintage open bangle?

Take Off Your Jade Bangle in Just 10 Seconds! 💚

Having trouble taking off your jade bangle?

Try this simple trick!

✨ Step 1
Put a thin plastic bag over your hand and pull it all the way up to your wrist.

✨ Step 2
Add a little liquid to the outside of the bag to help reduce friction.

✨ Step 3
Hold the bangle gently and slowly pull the plastic bag back over your hand.

And just like that…

Your jade bangle can slide off much more easily! 😍

No forcing.
No painful pulling.
Just a little trick that can make removing a snug bangle easier.

💡 Be gentle, especially with older bangles or pieces with existing cracks or fractures.

Would you try this trick?

It Looks Like Jadeite. So Why Can’t It Replace the Real Thing?

Why does this bangle look so much like jadeite… but still can’t replace it?

At first glance, this is what’s commonly called “African Jade.”

It can be bright green, translucent, and beautifully icy. On camera, it can look surprisingly similar to high-quality jadeite.

But put them side by side, and the differences become easier to notice.

✨ Luster

African “jade” can have a softer, flatter-looking shine.

Jadeite often has a richer luster, with light interacting beautifully with its internal structure.

⚖️ Weight

Here’s another clue you can actually feel.

Hold both bangles in your hands.

The African material may feel noticeably lighter because its density is generally lower than jadeite.

Jadeite feels denser and more substantial for the same size.

Similar appearance doesn’t mean the same material.

And that’s the key.

A stone can imitate jadeite’s color and translucency, but that doesn't make it jadeite.

So next time you see a beautiful green bangle, don't judge it only by how it looks on camera.

Look at the luster.

Feel the weight.

And most importantly, identify the material.

Could you tell these two apart? 👀💚

More Than Jade — A Piece Made for Happiness 💚

Some jade pieces are beautiful.

This one was made to mean something.

This custom jade piece was designed around one simple wish:

Happiness for the family.

On the front are three zodiac animals—the dragon, monkey, and dog. Each one carries its own meaning and represents a special connection to the family.

Surrounding them is a traditional endless pattern, symbolizing continuity and an unbroken circle of blessings.

But the most meaningful detail is on the back:

囍 — the Double Happiness symbol.

It isn't just decoration.

It's a reminder of love, family, togetherness, and the happiness we hope will stay with us for years to come.

That's what makes custom jade so special.

You're not just creating a piece of jewelry.

You're creating a story.

A story made to be worn, remembered, and passed down. 💚

What would you put on a custom jade piece to represent your family?
