Vintage Rain is a homegrown business that gives life to lost and unsuspected treasures. The name of the business really says it all. I love using vintage/old materials to create original pieces unlike any other. I use an abundance of lace, buttons, and crochet. With those being a staple in my designs, I add several other things that one would never look at as being truly beautiful. That explains "
Vintage" in my business name quite clearly. "Rain" has an entirely different meaning but it is the foundation of the entire business itself. My stunning and talented mother was the reason I became so passionate about all things vintage. Therefore using most of my maiden name, Raino, would be more than appropriate. I create pieces from my own ideas and interests, but I love more than anything to create custom pieces that are special to those they are made for. I can create personalized charms, or anything really. I have done a lot of special pieces with their own sentimental things inside resin or glass. Before I ventured into jewelry making, I did and still do a lot with oyster shells and other kinds of shells I find on different boating and beach adventures. Oyster shell Santa Clauses (been doing these for 20+ years) are still made each holiday season. I still make oyster shell wreaths, center pieces, sealife for walls, lamp bases, candle holders and several other things. Along with the previous things listed, I create soldered mixed media decorative bottles, soldered birds, soldered houses, burlap pillows and burlap bags.
