Oh no!

A very well planned heist has left a few pubs waiting on deliveries that are never arriving.

Police say 800 barrels of Guinness, worth an estimated €134,000, were taken from a Diageo depot on the evening of Monday 31 August. The depot is in Runcorn, near Liverpool, and Cheshire Police are handling the investigation.

Thieves used two lorries to take the stout in two separate hauls, one shortly before 8pm and a second just after 9pm. Each connected to a trailer already loaded with barrels before driving off.

The barrels held around 70,400 pints in total, all destined for pubs before the theft happened.

Including the two stolen trailers themselves, both branded for logistics company GXO, police put the total value of what is missing at around €238,000.

A police spokesperson could not resist pointing out that Guinness is good for you, but only once it has actually been paid for.
