Cat Makes Things is a collection of hand- crafted minimal contemporary jewelry made with semi precious metals and crystals sourced from around the world

Cat Makes Things is a collection of hand- crafted accessories made with one of kind crystals, minerals and gemstones. All the stones used in my designs are hand picked by myself from local rock and crystal shops and gem shows to ensure I get minerals that are unique to each piece I create. The minerals I use come from various caves, mines and rock formations from all over the world. Aquamarine fro

m India, polished druzy gemstones from Indonesia, malachite horn from Tibet and agates from Brazil are just a few examples. I am constantly fascinated at the beautiful, natural rigid forms, textures and colors of each mineral. I try to select a variety of rough and polished stones, unusual patterns, and create something unique for my wearer. I am inspired by the natural minerals and the diversity of my wearers.

Art as Therapy

Starting our year off with a painting class with some Mama friends. Apparently all you need is paper, acrylics and a paper towel!! This very simple technique of dabbing and blending paints with a paper towel was fun, creative and very meditative!!

Our guided lesson was the landscape, then our free choice was a rainbow, a palm tree against puffy clouds, and a sea turtle 🌈 ⛅️ 🌴 🌊 🐢

I think our subconscious is telling us something!!
