MEET THE ARTIST RECEPTION - TODAY - 4pm to 6pm
The Fine Art of Engagement Gallery at La Reine Boutique is proud to announce “In the Name of Love”, a joint exhibit which explores the intersection of art, technology and the feelings it provokes.
It features the digital hybrid art of Ron Wohlgemuth and the underwater photography of Harry Martin. The setting for the exhibit is the historic Village of Piermont, in La Reine's vintage boutique, where exquisite fine jewelry is combined with the works of ground-breaking artists.
Ron Wohlgemuth, a painter in the 1970s, has transitioned into the digital art world. With over fifty years of experience as an artist, Ron has explored various approaches to visual expression. His works take viewers through multiple locations and periods of creativity, blending painting, drawing, and photography to create something new and fresh. His ultimate goal is for viewers to enter a “visual playground” and enjoy exploring his works. A long-time teacher in Demarest, Ron is the recipient of the Geraldine R. Dodge “Artists Who Teach” grant, and a permanent member of the Piermont Flywheel Gallery, serving as President from 2017-2020.
Harry Martin is an Emmy award-winning TV anchor and photographer. He has anchored news programs at My9 and Fox 5 New York. Harry continues to pursue his passion for photography with his project “Harry Martin Underwater,” which focuses on underwater glamour, fashion, and abstract photography. He creates abstract surrealist compositions by using his underwater photographs as a starting point and then modifying them through computer algorithms. Harry has had solo exhibits at The Piermont Flywheel Gallery and has been featured in publications such as 201 Magazine and BC The Mag. He also partnered with Neiman Marcus for the “Art of Fashion” event and helped raise money for under-served families through a private exhibit. The Palm Beach Cultural Arts Council and The City of Boynton Beach have featured his works. He is now exploring the intersection of art and Artificial Intelligence.
The Fine Art of Engagement Gallery at La Reine is the creation of the fine jeweler Pete Helou and the fine art photographer Kate Buggeln, who have joined together to create a new environmental artform; the provocative beauty which emerges when innovative fine art both surrounds and adorns us.
“In the Name of Love" will run Wednesdays through Sundays, February 1st through February 26th, at La Reine Boutique in Piermont, NY.
