New arrival! This rose gold ring features a glowing moonstone surrounded by diamonds. Moonstone gets its glow from light bouncing between layers inside the stone, which is why it seems to shift and shimmer as it moves. It's called adularescence, and it's part of what makes this stone so mesmerizing.🌛💫

Last call for August birthdays 🎉 Have you ever seen your birthstone sparkle like this? These MINT peridots were just set into a pair of cushion cut earrings for a client, and the color on these is something special.

Not every peridot has this color. The most vivid mint green material comes from one remote source: the Sapat mountain region of Pakistan, high in the Himalayas. The altitude is so extreme that miners can only reach the deposits during the summer months, once the snow clears enough to get to them. The rest of the year, the mountain simply isn't accessible.

We recently had the chance to source natural alexandrite for a client's custom piece, and we couldn't resist sharing a closer look at these two stones.
In daylight it reads green to blue-green, and step into incandescent light and it shifts to a warm red-purple. It's not a trick of the camera, it's the way the stone absorbs light, and it's part of what makes natural alexandrite so rare and sought after.

You've seen this stone before. Our "sunset" sapphire has been a favorite in the store for its warm, shifting colors, and this week it found its forever setting. Our client chose a yellow gold and diamond mounting designed by our own Jason Simmons, and the combination turned out even better than we imagined. Custom design at its finest.💕
