This coming weekend, we are headed back to the Peoria Art Guild for a fun Fortune Cookie Metals Class! In this class you will learn about forming and sculpting metal, learn to anneal, stamp, and finish your own custom fortune cookie with personalized fortune strip.

This will be my second class with the Guild and I am excited to take on this silly and fun class for artists of any experience level. Come make something with us!

I've dreamt of this kind of line-up for years and to be participating in these two stellar shows has me feeling accomplished and also, under more pressure than ever! I have been working hard in the studio for months and have 3 more weeks to finalize everything.

Will I have great shows? No one knows. Will I have done everything I can to succeed? You betcha. I love interacting with the people. I live for the real time feedback of the lovers and the critics. I cannot wait to scoop up some original art of my own from my fellow artists exhibiting at these two reputable and competitive shows. Hope to see your face! 🤘🏻

Francine Earrings >>•• modern day avocado countertops with mustard appliances, but in earrings.

I originally would have never paired these two colors together, and had planned separate designs for them, in pairs. Then, as I looked at the loose stones next to each other on my bench, I realized that they belonged together. All sterling silver, lemon quartz(?), green aventurine stones, and made by these two hands 🙌🏼

The aftermath.

I disassembled everything I wasn't in love with. Anything that left me saying, "meh."

I never set out to make "meh." It just happens when my skills progress and I continue to distinguish my own art from the process of making jewelry.

I've decided to edit the catalog before, but I have NEVER taken things apart on this level. About half of my work didn't make my heart flutter and so the silver will be filed, refined, melted down, and reused with new life, new intention, and brand new ideas that seem to be bursting out of me faster than I can solder them together.

The website holds about 30 treasures now, with more being added every day. And the art that is rising out of this literal pile of burnt metal is something I am incredibly proud of. Stay tuned ✌🏻
