Dear flea market family,

It has been a great honor to help bring more life to our hometown of Historic Old Town Pasadena. We have enjoyed gathering a community of vintage admirers, highlighting vendors’ hard sought and unique finds, and supporting small business owners who put in every ounce of passion and effort into their work.

Unfortunately, due to a handful of reasons outside of our control, we have to indefinitely pause our events. We hope to see you all again in the near future, but for now, happy trails. 🫶

Did you know that when shopping at the  Old Town Flea Market the clothes aren’t the only thing with a rich history? 📸

Colorado Boulevard is a historic street and the foundation of Old Town Pasadena. While now home to many different shops, restaurants, and experiences this was not always the case. The city transitioned from rich vegetation groves to a commercial corridor with the help of a post office and general store opening in 1876. 

After many years of development, the street received one of its first landmarks through the construction of the Colorado Street Bridge in 1913. Known for its great size, beautiful arches, and iconic lights, the bridge has become a notable addition to Pasadena. ✨

While Colorado Boulevard has grown from its once small start, the historical charm that remains as the foundation of Old Town Pasadena creates a wonderful atmosphere to spend time in.

Did you know that when shopping at Old Town Flea Market, the clothes aren’t the only thing with a rich history? 📸

DID YOU KNOW? Pasadena is known as the City of Roses 🌹

As remembered through the annual Rose Parade the city hosts, this is only a portion of what makes up the art and flora landscape of the city. 

While a home to different museums, it also has a rich public art scene full of sculptures, and murals, and even provides access to many different gardens. 🌱

The city’s history with lush greenery is attributed to its start as land for orange groves that set the foundation. As Pasadena developed into a business center throughout the 1900s, both art and flora became intertwined into the makeup of the city, which can even be seen in the architecture and heart of the city. 

Old Town itself is a part of this journey that houses many shops, restaurants, and entertainment experiences all framed within the 1920s revival style architecture. Spending a day in the Old Town is a great way to immerse yourself in the city where you can find so much to do!

In December 1940, the Arroyo Seco Parkway was completed, becoming the new alignment of Route 66 from Pasadena to Los Angeles and the first “freeway” in the United States.

Providing a faster and more direct route from Pasadena to Los Angeles, the city began to boom again, especially after World War Il.

By 1950 the population had increased to more than 100,000, and the city that was once known for its attraction to tourists was inundated with smog from its high industrial areas.

However, over the next several decades, Pasadena recovered with the help of redevelopment and preservation groups. Historic homes and buildings began to be renovated and restored, especially in Old Pasadena, where the city’s business district first started.

Today, the city provides several historical and architectural gems, with Old Pasadena being the focus of revitalization and serving as a dining, shopping, and entertainment mecca.
