We are so thankful for our linemen working double time to get power restored!

Well, folks, we have cut it in half. We currently have 3,500 customers without electricity. We have had a long day that isn't over yet. Some of you are rejoicing, while some are still frustrated with no power. Please understand our efforts are at our very best. We have faced and still are facing a big challenge with this one. Power restoration is expected to continue into Monday. We will update in the morning and throughout the day tomorrow.

Around 2,000 customers have gained power since this morning leaving our current outage total at 4,900. The name of the game today has been set poles and set more poles. Progress is being made. We will provide a final Saturday update around 8:30 this evening.

Our crews made some progress in the late evening hours. We start the day with 7,200 customers having no power. We currently have over 200 separate outages so restoration will be slow. We are nearing 100 poles that are down throughout the system. Many outages will take several hours for a crew to restore so, again, progress will be slow. Eight additional crews totaling over 40 linemen will join forces with our Paris BPU crews to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. With the large number of poles to be repaired, we anticipate that restoration efforts will last beyond the weekend. We will make a huge dent by late Sunday night, but we expect some outages to last until the early week. I want to thank all of you again for your words of encouragement and understanding. The work of Paris BPU is no more important than when the system is compromised and in need of repair. Our folks are working hard for you. The next update will come out around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon.
