Weekend 1 at Nebraska Ren was AMAZING. Absolutely gorgeous weather and a fun crowd 🖤

Superstar helper Arune Bense was a LIFESAVER! She is a long time MNRF attendee/employee but had never been to the glorious Bellevue Berry Farm. When I first asked her to help I told her that out of all of the faires I've done, this one is one of my favs. And she asked why.

I told her that this, in my opinion, is one of the best because of the following.
1. Flushing toilets (this modern comfort goes a long way amongst the fest crowd)
2. This faire has all the thing a bigger Faires have. They have great acts, entertaining cast, some amazing vendors, some great food options... but it is WAYYYYY more walkable (due to the smaller footprint than bigger faires.
3. The village is in the trees. Great shade and being in the 'woods' adds a cool ambiance.
4. Still the only Faire I was ever greeted by a wild peacock. Side note... I think the peacock call sounds like a woman yelling help🤣
5. And this is most important. Less crowd. Less crowd means I as an artist have the time to have real conversations about my process and inspirations and faire experiences... I get to really connect with the people who stop by my booth.

So if I saw you this weekend, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of a magical weekend. If I didnt see you... you have 2 more weekends at the Berry Farm to make some magic with us. Im in my usual corner... come see me!🖤

Mantra; Art is the highest form of hope.

In my previous pieces made of barbed wire, the parts are spaced far enough apart to hold the diamond pattern open. About 8 months ago I started wondering what would happen if i eliminated that spacing.

My theory was that the diamond pattern would collapse on itself and would appear more linear when at rest. But i also thought that when the person wearing it spins, the centrifugal force would open the diamonds in the weave, allowing the skirt to lift. Or fly, if you will.

Her name is Danger Kitty. She's equally beautiful and powerful, just like you.

Greetings, its been a while. Really, not that long, but with current events in Minnesota each day feels like an eternity. I honestly cant remember being this sad and scared before.

There's a famous quote that says "Art is the highest form of hope". As I worked thru my latest project that quote was my mantra. The familiar repetitive zen movement of my hands did help ease my soul a bit. Not enough, but I'll take what peace I can get right now.

I have struggled to post...it feels weird and disrespectful of the situation to post here and say hey look at these sleeves, please buy them! But sadly,😩 the bills still need to be paid.

So, here I am.

🖤It is the same shape as the Embroidered mesh bolero I have made for some time. 'Cut real high in the back so you can wear it with your wings!'
🖤One clasp at neck for easy wear
🖤First full circle sleeves I have done, no clasps or ties at wrist
🖤Sleeve has asymmetrical design for maximum 'obnoxious sleeve' effect. My God how i love a good obnoxious sleeve.
