This month’s NLC Lotto Token is a reminder. Some will scoff as they do, but I wholeheartedly believe that it is a RESPONSIBILITY of ours to not only remember, but to pass the details and the emotions that we carried on to those that never experienced it.

Each NLC Lotto Token that you purchase is an entry into monthly drawings that I hold, for items that I make/offer. I’ll be working this September 11th, so the drawing will either be this coming Saturday or Sunday. Any name(s) not drawn that month will remain for future drawings up until the end of the year when I do a large giveaway.

I have no guarantees that I’ll be able to post tomorrow while on shift, but I do ask that you take a moment to reflect… whether you were alive at that time or not, this has shaped your life in some way or another.

Anyways, I’ve got a lot going on before I can get to these, but it’s gonna go down. Feels good, and it hurts at the same time… to finally see them feels great; the cost to begin this process was painful 😫😂







I did get off of shift this morning and been working on 9.11 NLC Lotto Tokens. A bunch of you placed orders for the Titanium Family Coins, so got that going too. Working on cleaning up the shop so that I can start sewing the customs, and it looks like they’re coming next week to actually fix the compressor… and then I can get the custom inlayed I.D. Tags done. So much happening all at once, but blessed to have ya in my corner. Thank you all 🙏 Literally Everyone

LAST ONE. Live now.

I met Steve “Heavy Barrel” back in 2020 here on IG when he was doing all wood work. Since then he moved into casting and came up with his brass “Relic” tag. He sent me a few of those plus 3 custom cast paperweights with my logo.

I finished and auctioned the first two a while ago. This is the 3rd and FINAL one. Been over a year since I worked on one of these.

Cast solid brass by Heavy Barrel. Hand finished by me. Finger stalls are slightly larger than the 1” industry standard. This one came in really rough with a ton of overcast on the logo - which is what makes it unique.

What I did to it:
Cleaned up the 3 and clover on the front face. I’m by no means a carver, but I slowly ground away extra casting and carved details back in. Every mortar joint was deepened by hand and the plaster details sharpened.

These stalls were rough with almost no fillet, so I hand filed each one, added full contouring and a border to separate the stalls from the faces.

Outer edges/borders got the same treatment - hand filed, slightly rounded over, left with fine file marks and a swirl pattern for extra character.

Finish is a special wash, deeply blackened, then hand rubbed to a distressed look. Let it sit in the Florida humidity and then sealed with Odie’s Oil.

Simple, laidback evening for me. That doesn’t mean I haven’t accomplished anything though 😏

I was tired as hell today after getting home from shift. Still managed to keep the laser running to complete a couple of jobs, and even a little something extra. I’ll push harder come tomorrow, but for tonight I’m gonna sit back and watch the Punisher with my boy.

WIP: Inlays Complete! Here’s a look at the next stage of the custom inlayed Imminent Danger (I.D.) Tags. Each of these were handmade, DEEPLY engraved, inlayed with a beautiful lab grown Opal, and filled with a crystal clear resin. This is just part of the process.

Yesterday and today have been challenging in more ways than one. Doing these was actually a bit of a break, mentally. There’s a lot going on here at the house; dealing with a mold remediation, and in the process of having my air compressor fixed. I ain’t stoppin’ though.

I’ll keep y’all updated throughout the process. In fact, I need to hop on a vid to vent over here a bit 😫😬😂. Take it easy 💪

What Would You Do for a Klondike Bar 👀

Needed this to break up this busy day on shift. Started off a little crazy, and it hasn’t changed.

As much as I love my job, I wish I coulda shown y’all what I have cooking’ at the house. I did get through pouring half of the custom inlayed Imminent Danger Tags, and restocked on some other necessities.

Anyways, it’s been awhile since I’ve carried this Rick Hinderer Knives XM18 3.5 Spanto. TBH, I forgot to grab one of my regulars before leaving the house this am, but this isn’t too bad. Fun to flip, but you know I’m an Emerson guy 😏

⚠️BOOKS ARE CLOSED & BRASS IS ORDERED⚠️

EXPENSIVE AF, but it feels damned good to get moving on another custom run. I closed the books at 8 orders. Seems like a small amount, but if you’ve ever been on my books before, you know that I don’t pump out my work, nor will I ever.

Sincere thanks to ALL of you. It was humbling to have orders from those of you that have gotten pieces in the past, and also a few “newbies”. When someone orders from you that has previously done so, it says a lot to the maker. It tells me that I’m doing something right. Stay tuned over the next few months for this journey. Yeah, it takes some damn time. There will also be other things in the meantime. Which reminds me, I need to get on the next run of NLC Lotto Tokens, and we have to get a drawing ready!!

Taking the day off; sort of… It’s been busy so far today. My wife woke me up out of a dead sleep cause our pup, Kit took a 💩 in his crate. Gave him a bath (a darn good one), had coffee, and then prepped for the CUSTOM BOOK OPENING. I grabbed lunch with my sons, and came home and released the madness that a book opening can be 😂.

Anyways, give me a break. It’s rainy out here, and I’m making use of the time to finish engraving on the Imminent Danger Tags 😏. You can thank me for all of the unnecessary info later 😬
